connect to symatec end point protected windows 7

I got an windows 7 64b laptop recently from my company, it has 8GB ram, very fast and good for heavy duty java development, only one problem, the laptop has symantec endpoint protection with network thread protection on, I can't do remote desktop to this laptop from my other home computer, unless I disable the network thread protection or has VPN connected.
But disabling network thread protection only works for a while, it is auto enabled after about 10 mins.

Now I found a simple solution to connect to this laptop:

1. go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
2. right click the local area connection to properties
3. select the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), click the properties button
4. click Advance --> DNS
5. enter your company's domain name (i.e. google.com in "DNS suffix for this connection"
6, check the "Register this connection's address in DNS"
7. click OK button
8. open a command prompt, type "ipconfig /renew" without quote

Now from other computer in same network (i.e. in same home router), do the same thing from step 1 to 8 (tested in both XP SP3 and win7).

Once both computer has same domain name suffix, the Symantec end point connection think it is in corporation network, it will accept remote desktop connection from my other home computer without disabling the network thread protection, or no VPN connected as well.
